April 2009: Wernert Construction Management, LLC is happy to announce our award for the “Development of the North Street Property” which will house a new animal shelter and field maintenance building. Greenwich’s current Animal Control Shelter is in unacceptable condition with inadequate heating, no air-conditioning, poor ventilation and inadequate storage. Animal Control is state-regulated and is under far stricter guidelines than any non-profit animal shelter. The new Shelter will be built to the latest stringent state and national standards. It will be clean, modern, and have proper storage facilities. This 3,400 square foot building will have 20 cat condos, 12 kennels and runs, as well as an examining and grooming room. It will be a shelter of which Greenwich can be proud! The new field maintenance building will be about 8,400 square feet in which town maintenance vehicles and equipment will be stored.

March 2009:  Wernert Construction Management, LLC is honored and thrilled to be the General Contractor for the Renovation and Expansion of the Glenville Fire Station in Greenwich, CT.  The project consists of adding 4,285 square feet in the form of two new wings as well as a complete renovation of the station’s existing space.  One of the new wings will be a giant garage, housing two fire trucks that are now either squeezed into the three bay station or parked outside.  The other addition is a large meeting room where volunteer firefighters can gather for training.  As much as Wernert takes great pride in all the projects they take part in, this one is considered very special considering it’s tremendous importance to the Town of Greenwich’s brave volunteer fire fighter’s.  This project is scheduled for 14 months to which Wernert plans to deliver early.

March 2009: As of March 31, 2009, Wernert Associates, Inc., has been certified as a Women Owned Small/ Minority Business Enterprise (WMBE) by the State of Connecticut Department of Administrative Services. Anne Wernert is the President and she has been managing all the affairs with Wernert Associates, our residential company, since 1990. She has completed over 20 new homes as well as numerous additions.

August 2008: The Town of Greenwich has awarded Wernert Construction Management, LLC the contract to begin the demolition, additions, and renovations of an existing barn structure in backcountry. The new building will provide a base for ambulances as well as the GEMS staff and will help maintain quick response times to medical calls in the northern part of Greenwich. July 2008: WCM is very proud and excited to start a new job for Pathways Inc., a private, non-profit organization located in Greenwich CT. Pathways provides a continuum of care and services for adults who suffer from serious and prolonged mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depression. Programs include safe, affordable housing with varying levels of support, case management, and rehabilitation services. Wernert will be putting a 2,400 square foot addition plus a complete renovation on one of there properties while renovating and improving 2 others. The job is scheduled to begin in august and have a duration of 6 months.

March 2008: Wernert Construction Management, LLC proudly welcomes back Mike Lampel after a 6 month absence. Mike had been with Wernert for 7 years, from 2000 to 2007. He will resume his duties as senior project manager and chief estimator in charge of all commercial projects. Mike’s vast knowledge and insight are invaluable and will be a significant factor to the ongoing success and growth of the company.

October 2007: Wernert Associates, Inc. was recently recognized in the October 2007 issue of Fairfield County Home Magazine for a renovation in Back Country Greenwich. With the help of Bob Tucker from Huestis-Tucker Architects, LLC and Martha Grimm at Martha Grimm Interiors, Wernert Associates, Inc. turned a contemporary-style patio house into a harmonious, traditional style home. September 2007: Wernert Companies welcome a fresh face to join their team. Mark McBreairty of Cos Cob, has come aboard as a Project Manager. Mark has over 16 years of project management experience throughout the tri-state area, most recently in Manhattan. Bruce Wernert, owner and president, says, “We are very excited to have Mark join our team, his knowledge and experience will be a nice asset to our company, and I really like him.”

September 2007: Wernert Construction Management, LLC was awarded and started work at The Country Club of Darien in Darien CT. The job involves building a new roof structure on the snack bar, building a new pump house/equipment storage facility, and building a new pool pavilion.

June 2007: Wernert Construction Management completes a 14,000 Square Foot Office Fit-Up for Charkit Chemical Corporation in South Norwalk, Connecticut. The job took a total of 12 weeks. David Woods from Culpen & Woods Architects out of Stamford Connecticut prepared the drawings for the project.

June 2007: Wernert Construction Management completes a 35,000 SF office preparation and addition for ING Clarion Realty Services at 2 Greenwich Office Park in Greenwich CT.

February 2007: Evan Burchell joins the Wernert team for business development and marketing. His experience includes 5 years of residential and commercial real estate throughout the tri-state area as well as 6 years working as a golf professional at 2 elite clubs in Long Island, New York.
